Thank you, everyone, who came out to support our debut for 2017 at the Proprietary House timeline in Perth Amboy. Without a doubt, our Italians dominated the scene and I was very impressed, over all, with the display we had given the somewhat small space we had to work with. We were able to showcase the enlisted Blackshirts, Fasci Femminile, MVSN officer, a Royal Army cavalry officer who was our guest for the occasion, and PNF gerarca via "Federico Indossatrice" in our display thanks to all of you.
Camicia Nera Paolo and Viviana got some photos. If you are on Facebook, please go "like" Dragoon Photography, which is his business. https://www.facebook.com/DragoonPhotography/
They took several wonderful photos and I encourage you to check them out.
Prop. House is a nice place for small static displays. We had more visitors than initially expected, which was good. In addition to our Italians there were other WW2 people doing British, Russian, and Finnish, plus Spanish American, Rev. War, Victorian, and WWI. In all, things went well for our display. Our friend Kim made us--entirely by hand--an enormous Italian flag which we put out on a pole. It was an excellent eye-catching feature for us, so we appreciate that. In total, we had five people from the legion, plus our Royal Army guest, which was a nice turn out!
We will be having our training day at il Campo di Cartone on 26 March to build up on what we have so far. The training day will cover the basics of foot drill, rifle drill, uniform inspection and evaluation, reenactor safety, and basic tactics. After that, a social afternoon will wrap it up.
On a different note, we're going to play the "Guess The Grigioverde Game" one last time. In order to properly standardize our helmet color it has been decided to do a color match of the kit itself as Camicia Nera Paolo has done. We'll paint everyone's helmets at the training day if necessary.
